Hailing from Philadelphia, June Lopez launched his career in 2000 with releases as (E)motion Detectors on Worship Records (Philadelphia) and with Chris Udoh on Gourmet Records (Chicago). He can be heard DJing on his bi-weekly radio show, “Synchronized” on myhouse-yourhouse.net where he mixes latin, jazz, broken beat, hip-hop, house, afro-beat, and tech house into a genre-defying blend.

June’s deep-yet-dancey style is well represented in Rhythm Into Motion, a rich deep house track that incorporates a spoken word piece, filtered chords, a smattering of latin percussion, a dense fudgey bassline and a rubbery lead. Kmar’s voice oozes through the music with June highlighting the poetry here and there with effects.
June Lopez provides 3 different flavors of his own track: the Original Mix, the TCP Mix, and the TCP Conga Mix.

Alland Byallo (Nightlight, Missive, Poker Flat, Dirt Crew) delivers a deep and groovy remix that slowly builds through Kmar’s spoken word to peak in a culmination of drums and melody. Alland captures a summery vibe using warm tropical pads, dense and wavy synth loops, a wide bassline and lots of drum detail.

The vibe of the track is classic in it’s drum programming and spoken world style bringing to mind an East Coast world beat disco vibe. The drums are straight forward with hi-hat triplets and a solid four to the floor. Synth pads are Larry Heard styled space groove and horns are stretched through filters punctuating the vibe. This is a sophisticated track for sophisticated dance floor.

The TCP Mix pushes up the bounce factor dub style with beats that a re a little tighter in dynamics in more purposeful in intent. Shakers and tribal hand percussion humanize this spacey vibe for a groove that is late night and trippy.

Alland’s mix carries Rhythm Into Motion into the depth of inner space. The bassline is a primordial ooze of a heart beat pushing the outward to the clips of abstracted snares and hi hats. Kmar’s poetry is swimming in reverb and oscillators open and close like life cycles on a remote planet. The life of the track swells as kick drums finally drive it to exhilaration.
