R U Westside is a funky latin house track from San Francisco-based producer, Native Intelligence. Native Intelligence is mostly known in San Francisco for his eclectic and energizing DJ sets. His production is just as eclectic; he has previous releases on breaks label, Sleevin Records and an upcoming release on DJ Fame and Eric Sharp’s new dance imprint Rock It Science Laboratories.
Native Intelligence’s original mix is chock-full of twists and surprises. Vocal stabs staple the funky bassline to latin piano loops. The piano floats in and out of depth while Native Intelligence whispers to you gently about “Cali”. Choppy little bass bits signal the break down, where the full funk is delivered.

Sir Stewart & Boss Tweed (Soul Fuel, Llama Farm, Kolour) deliver a juiced-up and mutated remix of the original. Crunchy drum effects and a squelchy synth join the piano loops from the original to create a build that stutters into a dancefloor monster.

Jake Childs (Freerange, OM, Uniform) presents a dark and techy version of R U Westside. A ringing bell exploits the space above dark synths until the drum beats rest. Following an airy breakdown, the remix picks back up and the synths really make sure you feel nice and filthy.
